People's Outpour Expected in Haryana's Hisar, as BJP Leader Sonali Phogat's Last Rites To Be Conducted Today.

Two of the accused initially named in the FIR in connection with Phogat's death have already been detained by the Goa Police. Other raids and subsequent arrests are expected to follow soon.

Yashodhra Phogat, the daughter of Sonali Phogat, were photographed along with other family members, carrying the mortal remains of her mother during the funeral procession, being held in a farmhouse in Hisar, on Friday, the 26th of August.

Earlier, Sonali Phogat had died in Goa while she was there on one of her shoots. The 41-year-old Actor-Turned-Politician complained of severe uneasiness and discomfort, after which she was hurriedly rushed to Goa's St. Anthony Hospital. There she was declared dead upon arrival.

While one of initial reports had suggested that she had died of a heart attack, a second post mortem conducted in Goa clearly indicated that Phogat had suffered multiple blunt force traumas or serious injuries.

Subsequently, the police filed a case under the category of 'Unnatural Death' and went on to include a murder charge in the First Information Report (FIR).

In the events that followed, two of the known associates of the late BJP leader were held in custody and later questioned overnight by some of the leading officials of the Goa Police.

The two associates, Sudhir Sagwan and Sukhwinder Wasi, were the two of the accused named in the FIR.

'The associates in question, have only been detained and not arrested.' remarked Inspector Prashal PN Desai, in his interview with the news agency PTI.

Previously, the police had registered an FIR against both, Sudhir Sangwan and Sukhwinder Wasi, based on the complaint of Phogat's brother Rinku Dhaka, who made some serious allegations about why she thinks that her might have been murdered.

The Goa Police said that they have added different sections under the murder charges in the case of Phogat's 'Unnatural Death' after a team of forensic experts conducted the body's autopsy, in Goa, on Thursday.

Sonali Phogat's sister, Rinku Dhaka, said, that she was definitely not satisfied with the workings of the police and that the post-mortem done in Goa was not properly done. She also demanded that a new post-mortem should be considered at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi. Considering the seriousness of the case she also repeated the Phogat family's original demand for a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe in this case.
