9 Films Before Brahmastra With The Most Advance Bookings in Bollywood Ever!!

 

Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt's movie Brahmastra is just hours away from getting released. The movie, since it's announcement, has become a hot topic on social media. While some are calling for a boycott of him, others  keenly await this release.

 

By Wednesday night, the day before its release, the film had sold tickets worth Rs 23 crore through advance bookings, with almost half of the revenue coming from the opening day. This means that the film already has  the best pre-orders of any post-pandemic Hindi film, and still has a full day of bookings left.

 

According to various sources, Brahmastra sold tickets worth Rs 110 crore across the country in all five languages ??on its opening day. The pre-booking number for the Indian version alone is over Rs 100 crore. This film puts Ayan Mukerji ahead of the Indian version of RRR, which sold 70 million tickets on the first day of pre-booking.

 

However, it lags far behind KGF - huge booking numbers for the second half (Rs 40 crore in Hindi, Rs 80 crore in total). The industry tracking portal Saclink reported that the Indian version of Brahmastra had 22.25 Crore worth pre-orders in its opening weekend. The Telugu version came second with 9.8 lakh pre orders, followed by the Tamil version with 11.1 lakh pre orders. Comparatively, Brahmastra's pre-orders for the Kannada and Malayalam versions were very small till Wednesday night.

 

At the same time, Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra has received great responses from the audience regarding the pre-sale. Reportedly, about 2,000 movie tickets have been sold so far. Looking at the film's pre-sale figures, retail analysts say the film will fetch around 30.35 crores on its release date. According to reports, Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff's film War topped the list when it opened in advance tickets in 2019.

According to the reports coming out, seeing the craze of the film Brahmastra, the theater owners have made the prices of the tickets for this film very high. It is being said that in some tier 1 and tier 2 cities, the tickets for the film were sold for roughly about Rs.800 and the exclusive experience based tickets were sold at somewhere between Rs.2000 to Rs.2200 per ticket.

 

War

 

4.05 Lakh Tickets

Tiger Shroff, Hrithik Roshan, and Vaani Kapoor starrer action drama film, War, made an unbelievably tremendous amount of money in terms of advance booking. Before the release of the film, about 4.05 lakh tickets were sold, which made it one of the most anticipated films in the recent past. Many also attribute it to the growing fame of Tiger Shroff and the ever so appealing personality and action hero reputation of Hrithik Roshan.

 

Prem Ratan Dhan Payo

 

3.40 Lakh Tickets 

Budget - Rs 120 Crore 

Business - Rs 432 Crore

 

The tickets for Salman Khan and Sonam Kapoor starrer film, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo also sold a whole lot of tickets well before the release. According to some reliable reports, 3.40 lakh tickets for the film were sold in advance at the box office before hitting the theatres. Some attribute it to the superstardom of both Salman Khan and Sonam Kapoor that drive the audiences to such large extents to pre order tickets way in advance.

 

Dangal

 

3.05 Lakh Tickets 

Budget - Rs 70 crore 

Business - Rs 2024 crore

 

Dangal has been deemed one of the best films of Aamir Khan and is also, rightly included in this list. The advance bookings for this film had a whopping amount of 3.05 lakh tickets. The film charts the life and times of Mahavir Singh Phogat, a former wrestler, who decides to fulfil his lifelong dream of winning a gold medal for his country by training his daughters for the Commonwealth Games despite the existing social stigmas.

 

Sanju

 

2.94 Lakh Ticket 

Budget - Rs.100 Crore

Business - Rs.586.85 Crore

 

Sanju, is one of Raj Kumar Hirani's dream projects that charts the life of one of Bollywood's most controversial actors, Sanjay Dutt. The biopic Sanju, with Ranbir Kapoor playing the lead role, became an overnight rage at the box office. And it doesn't come as a surprise when stats reveal that way before the film was even released, about 2.94 lakh tickets were sold in form of advanced bookings!

Bharat

 

3.16 Lakh Tickets 

Budget - Rs 100 crore 

Business - Rs 325 crore

 

If you're talking about Bollywood blockbusters, having Salman Khan play the lead role is pretty much a guarantee unto Itself! The Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer, Bharat, also listed itself among some of the few films whose advance tickets were sold the most. According to most of the reports being circulated in and around Bollywood, about 3.16 lakh tickets for the film were sold in form of advance bookings.

 

Tiger Zinda Hai

 

2.76 Lakh Tickets 

Budget - Rs 210 Cr 

Business - Rs 565 Cr

 

Tiger Zinda Hai is one of the greatest films of Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif. The film takes us through one of the missions in the life of RAW Agent, Tiger, where he joins forces with Zoya in order to rescue a group of nurses who are being held hostage by a notorious terrorist organisation. Like most of the other Salman Khan films, Tiger Zinda Hai also sold a lot of tickets in advance booking. The film sold about 2.76 lakh tickets in advance which makes up for a large chunk of its gross income.

Thugs Of Hindostan

 

3.30 Lakh Tickets 

Budget – Rs 300 Crore 

Business – Rs 335 Crore

 

Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, and Fatima Sana Shaikh starrer Thugs of Hindostan sold in excess of over 3.30 lakh tickets even before its release date was announced. It is a different thing altogether that the film couldn't perform half as good as it did on its record worthy opening in the first day of release.

 

Sultan

 

3.10 Lakh Tickets 

Budge t- Rs.145 Crore 

Business - Rs.623.33 Crore

 

Salman Khan and Anushka Sharma's film Sultan also rocked the box office. The film tells the story of Sultan Ali Khan, a middle-aged wrestler, who, after the death of his son, gives up the sport. Years later, he sets out to revive his career as he needs the prize money and wants to reclaim his lost respect. According to the stats, about 3.10 lakh advance booking tickets were sold even before the film's release. 

 

Mission Mangal 

 

2.71 Lakh Tickets 

Budget - Rs 32 crore 

Business - Rs 290 crore

 

In Akshay Kumar's multi-starrer film Mission Mangal, a group of scientists at ISRO battle in their personal and professional lives and work tirelessly towards their only motive, the Mars Orbiter Mission. The film also features Vidya Balan, Sonakshi Sinha, and Taapsee Pannu in lead roles. The film also had tickets booked well in advance. In the case of advance bookings for this film, an estimated 2.71 lakh tickets were sold.

Owing to her busy schedule, Alia shared that she could not make the changes.  Alia said, "We are going to have a child now. I don’t want to be the Bhatt, whilst the Kapoors are traveling together; you know what I mean? I don’t want to feel left out." Meanwhile, Alia and Ranbir recently returned from Italy where they went for their babymoon.

 

Right after their Babymoon, both Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor have finally started the full-fledged promotions of their upcoming film, Brahmastra. The couple made a joint appearance after a long time as they joined Brahmastra director Ayan Mukerji for the launch of a song preview. Alia, who has been regularly spotted in loose attires during the promotions of her just released film Darlings, stepped out in a short brown dress, highlighting her baby bump for the first time. She paired it with two-tone heels. Ranbir Kapoor joined her in black casuals. The two posed for some adorable couple pictures as the paparazzi clicked them after a long time.

The first song from Brahmastra, titled Kesariya is already out. Earlier this week, Ayan unveiled the teaser of the second song, titled Deva Deva. The teaser begins with Ranbir's Shiva praying to God. He is also seen explaining the importance of light to his love Isha, played by Alia. "It's what protects us when faced with any darkness," Ranbir tells Alia in the video. The highlight of the teaser is Ranbir exploring his power of fire with Amitabh Bachchan. The song will release on August 8.

 

Sharing some inside information about the song, Ayan wrote on Instagram, "DEVA DEVA Teaser. (And the rest of it - out on this coming Monday - the day of Lord Shiva) Deva Deva - was the first song to be composed for Brahmastra, capturing right away the Soul of Shiva's Journey in the movie! It has given me so much Energy and Joy over the time it has been with us...And I'm looking forward to finally sharing the feeling of this Song with everyone - on August 8th." 

 

Brahmastra will release theatrically on September 9 in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. The film also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy, and Nagarjuna Akkineni.
